Our Responsibility

Your Tenancy

As a tenant of WFCH or WFSH, you have either an assured or an assured shorthold tenancy.

This means that you have the legal right to stay in your home as long as you keep to the conditions of your tenancy – a document we have to give you by law and which all tenants sign at the start of their tenancy. This document explains our rights and responsibilities and your rights and responsibilities. It also tells you what we can do if you break any of these conditions, and the standards of service you can expect from us.

We will:

  • follow our responsibilities set out in the conditions of tenancy
  • deal sensitively with enquiries and complaints
  • tell you what your rights and responsibilities are as a tenant
  • respond to enquiries about your rights within 10 working days
  • give you up-to-date information
  • make decisions on requests for changes to your tenancy within 10 days of receiving all the information
  • take quick action against anyone who breaks their tenancy conditions
  • only take legal action if the tenancy conditions are broken persistently or in a serious way
  • provide a written explanation of any action we have taken
  • take reports of harassment seriously; and allow you to appeal against our decisions

Under the Data Protection Act 1998, we will keep information we hold about you on our records secure.
